The DAAD scholarship program enables you to pursue your postgraduate studies in Germany, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office. This opportunity is ideal for those looking to advance their academic career with a Master’s degree or postgraduate study.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants who have completed their first degree (e.g., Bachelor’s or Diplom) are eligible. Note that specific scholarship programs exist for applicants from artistic disciplines and architecture, including:
- Architecture
- Fine Art/Design/Film
- Performing Art
- Music
What Can Be Funded?
- A complete postgraduate or Master’s degree program at a state or state-recognized university in Germany.
- One year of study in Germany as part of a second or Master’s degree at your home university, provided the credits are recognized by your home university.
Duration and Value of Funding
- Duration: 10 to 24 months, depending on the length of the chosen program. Scholarships are awarded for the standard period of study (up to 24 months).
- Value:
- Monthly stipend of €934
- Payments towards health, accident, and personal liability insurance
- Travel allowance
- Annual study allowance of €460
- Possible additional benefits like rent subsidy and family allowances

Application Requirements
- Recent Degree: Your university degree should be no older than 6 years.
- University Admission: You must ensure timely application and admission to your chosen German university.
- Language Proficiency: Proof of proficiency in the language of instruction (German or English) is required.
