This event celebrates films that inspire action toward a sustainable future and bring awareness to hidden stories of individuals, communities, and organisations fighting against climate change. We invite you to make an entry to screen your film at the festival through this open call.
About the Festival
Green Film Festival emerged from a collective vision to harness the transformative power of cinema in addressing the urgent environmental challenges facing our planet. We are seeking submissions that address key themes:
- Biodiversity: Films that illustrate the interconnectedness of all living things and the importance of diverse ecosystems for planetary
- Activism: Stories that capture the spirit and impact of activism in promoting environmental justice and
- Food: Explorations into sustainable agricultural and production practices, indigenous knowledge and local food systems that are geared towards food security and
- Climate Displacement: Narratives that bring to light how environmental changes, particularly those driven by climate change, influence human migration patterns
- Wildlife Conservation: Documentaries or creative films focusing on the efforts to protect endangered species and their habitats, emphasizing both the challenges and successes of conservation

Steps to Submit Your Film
Step 1: Visit our website and navigate to the submissions section. You will be redirected to our FilmFreeway account to complete your submission. or Visit FilmFreeway to learn about the eligibility criteria, application process, and timeline. Review our FAQs for additional guidance.
Step 2: Submit your film through the GFFA listing on FilmFreeway. Include relevant information such as the title, director, runtime, a secure online screener, contact information, and a brief synopsis of the film.
Step 3: Submissions are completely free. After submitting, you will receive an email regarding your submission status by September 8, 2024. If selected, further instructions on providing additional materials will be provided.
