Call for Applications – Young Founders Programme Autumn 2024(Fully-funded)

The Westerwelle Young Founders Programme (YFP) is now accepting applications for its Autumn 2024 cohort! This is an incredible opportunity for entrepreneurs looking to elevate their businesses and make a significant impact on emerging and developing markets.

Programme Highlights and Benefits

The YFP offers a comprehensive six-month fellowship designed to support 25 high-potential leaders with the resources they need to scale their ventures and develop their leadership skills. Here’s what you can expect:

• Remote Fellowship: A 6-month programme from September 2024 to February 2025.
• Mentorship: One-on-one mentorship from industry leaders.
• Collaborative Learning: Monthly peer learning sessions with fellow entrepreneurs.
• Expert Sessions: Monthly workshops led by experts to enhance your skills.
• Networking: Opportunities to connect with corporates and investors.
• Berlin Conference: The top 10 participants will attend an all-expenses-paid 5-day conference in Berlin in June 2025.

Programme Plan

1. Kick-Off Event: A two-day digital event in mid-September 2024.
2. Remote Support: Continuous support through mentorship, workshops, and networking opportunities.
3. Berlin Conference: An immersive experience with workshops, networking events, and pitch opportunities in front of investors.

Selection Criteria

We are looking for entrepreneurs with the potential for significant impact and growth. Ideal candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Residency: Citizen or resident of a developing or emerging country.
• Startup: Recently (within the last five years) started a for-profit company focused on developing or emerging markets.
• Scalability: Business model that has generated revenue or secured initial funding.
• Innovation: Disruptive qualities that improve the industry’s quality, impact, or inclusiveness.
• Language: Good working knowledge of English.
• Availability: Able to attend the digital kick-off conference and participate in the programme activities for six months.

Application Process

To apply, complete the initial application form to provide an overview of your startup and profile. The application process includes:

1. Initial Application: Takes approximately 8 minutes to complete.
2. Additional Information: May be requested after the initial review.
3. Interviews: Conducted with shortlisted candidates from 12 – 30 August.
4. Notification: All applicants will be notified in early September.
