CALL FOR PROPOSALS: CASE STUDIES OF QUALITY CCE

The Monitoring and Evaluating Climate Communication and Education (MECCE) Project, in collaboration with over 100 leading scholars and agencies, including the IPCC, UNESCO, and UNFCCC, invites proposals for case studies of quality Climate Change Education (CCE) initiatives from researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders worldwide.

Objective: The MECCE Project aims to advance climate change communication and education to enhance global climate literacy and action. This call seeks to develop a deeper understanding of quality CCE through case studies, which will inform policy and practice in various settings.

Eligibility:

  • Researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders
  • Youth-led initiatives
  • Applicants do not need to be academic researchers but should collaborate with a researcher for support in developing high-quality case studies and research ethics applications.

Focus Areas:

  • Public participation in climate change-related decision-making
  • Public access to climate change information, including media communications, digital engagement, and climate activism
  • CCE initiatives in pre-primary, primary, higher, and vocational education contexts
  • Case studies from Latin America and Eastern Europe

Funding Details:

  • Up to $10,000 CAD per case study
  • Focus on researching an established quality CCE initiative
  • Funding not for the development or implementation of CCE initiatives

Deliverables:

  • Participation in project calls and updates
  • Submission of a final report and multimedia package showcasing key findings and implications
  • Publication of findings in academic or professional outlets

  • Deadline: March 25, 2024, 11:59 pm EST
  • Submission through the application portal
