 ISRF Mid-Career Fellowship Competition: Supporting Innovative Research in Social Science

The Independent Social Research Foundation is seeking independent-minded researchers to explore and present original research ideas that tackle real-world social problems in new ways. This fellowship competition aims to fund projects that are unlikely to receive support from existing funding bodies.

Who Can Apply?

Scholars from Europe with a full-time or part-time salaried position at a higher education and research institution are eligible. Applicants should be at least 10 years post-PhD, although exceptions may be made for those with significant mid-career qualifications.

What Research is Eligible?

Projects should break with existing frameworks to address empirical problems with new theories or methodologies. Interdisciplinary approaches are encouraged, allowing scholars to combine methods and insights from various social sciences.

Award Details:

Grants of up to €100,000 (or GBP equivalent) are available to cover teaching and administration costs for up to 12 months. Additional support for research expenses may be provided on a matched-funding basis.
